About Plas Madoc Leisure Centre

The Pool

Plas Madoc is best known for it’s Leisure Swimming Pool previously referred to as the "Tropical Lagoon". With it’s incredible wave machine (twice each hour during general swim), it's like no other in the Wrexham area.  The pool has a fantastic elephant and snake slide, alongside the infamous crocodile, which have always been massive hits with the younger children. The pool still has the fantastically fun spiral water slide for older children & grown ups too. Fun pool activities are regularly available during school holidays.

The pool is a free form leisure pool, broadly measuring 25m x 25m, pool temperature is 30-31 degrees Celsius. Can we respectfully request that you note that a Child Swimming Admissions Policy operates in the Pool and to please check our adult to child ratios before you travel.

The Parent / Child swim ratio is 1 adult to 1 child for children aged 4 & under, 1 adult to 2 children for children aged 5 to 7 and children 8 and over can swim alone (but their parents are still responsible for their actions and behaviour). For Parent & Paddler sessions, the ratio differs slightly where it is 1 adult to 2 children for ages 4 & under, which is excellent for parents not able to attend under normal ratios.

For adults, the pool runs a number of Aqua Aerobics classes throughout the week & offers an opportunity for Adults only swimming with Over 50's & Over 60's Swimming.

Community Hub

Following on from the Covid Community Support Hubs, Plas Madoc Leisure Centre is working to develop its Community Support Hub. We are working on a number of initiatives to support our local community.

We are developing a dedicated Community Hub Space in which we can run Food Education courses and Social groups and provide a space for local Community groups to meet.

We are working with Cambrian Loans and Savings to develop a Cash Office here at the centre to provide banking services for the local community.

We have a number of free or low cost projects running at the moment for the local community and are partnering with local Support services in helping to signpost those in need to be able to access those services.

Come and see us! Do you have suggestions from your local communities about what they would like to see on offer? Email: info@plas-madoc.com.
